As a TIG Welder, you'll be working on the welding and assembly of small aircraft components, ensuring every piece meets the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Set and operate TIG Welding equipment, demonstrating previous TIG welding experience
- Weld aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel parts, including sub-assemblies, to rigorous standards
- Perform spot welding and weld components using both manual and CNC equipment in various positions
- Carry out brazing using high-temperature silver or low-temperature brass work
- Work independently, maintaining a neat and safe work environment
- Weld parts using jigs or freehand, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Complete ancillary operations, including fettling, deburring, polishing, and cleaning
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, working within specified tolerances
- Measure, inspect, and log production data accurately within designated timeframes
- Ensure batch production complies with strict quality standards
- Support the team with other duties as needed, maintaining a flexible approach
Profile of a Successful Candidate:
- Experience in TIG Welding, particularly with stainless steel and aluminium alloys
- Familiarity with brazing and working with small components
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Previous manufacturing experience, ideally within aerospace or similar sectors
- Engaged, reliable, and eager to learn — full training provided
- An engineering background or apprenticeship is advantageous
- Competitive salary (£33,000 - £38,000) plus 20% shift allowance
