39-hr week Monday to Friday. Hours-08.30-5.00 (08.30-4.00 Fridays).

 

Outline of Job Description

This position offers an opportunity for the candidate with an in-depth working knowledge of IS0 9001 and an understanding of the AS/EN9100 aerospace additions. A background in a machining/CNC environment or precision mechanical engineering is essential. In this role provide environmental management to EN ISO 14001 ensuring fulfilment of our compliance obligations.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and understanding of CNC machining and CNC components.

Main Duties to include:

  • All customer specifications are met and maintained, Quality Planning and process documentation is organised.
  • Understand and direct the creation, controls, and input of data from, drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Ensure that customer complaints are validated and that corrective actions are robust using common quality tools.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and construct a monthly report.
  • Ensure procedures are updated and developed to achieve best practice.
  • Monitor the system audit schedules (Quality & Environmental).
  • Monitor supplier’s performance and assist the Buyer with approval ratings.
  • ‘Work collectively’ with the Production team and engineers managing the root cause of any problem/rejected machined part.   
  • Administer applications for concessions, waivers, and production permits.

 

Quality & Environmental Manager Candidate Requirements

  • Must have the AS9100 qualification and have the required experience to managing procedures
  • A wealth of experience in the defense, aviation, F1 industry
  • Ideally, a strong candidate who can lead AS9100, assisting our annual AS9100 audits.
  • Quality assurance background and ability to work directly with the company's engineers and production team
  • Ideally, an apprentice served engineer in Mechanical Engineering having a wealth of experience with precision-engineered components.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and organisational skills are essential.
  • Reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
  • The ability to communicate; be comfortable speaking with a wide range of staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Meticulous approach to measurement, comparison with standards and monitoring of processes.
  • Preferably a technical/machining pathway background
  • Quality inspection, precision measuring equipment with CMM methods/knowledge an advantage.
  • Preferred knowledge of AS9102 FAIR completion.
