Job Title:        Line Leader

Level:              3

Reports To:   Production Manager

Hours:            39 hours

Salary:             24,356 per annum

 

Purpose of the job: 

Achieve daily production output figures while maintaining quality standards. Ensure tidiness of assigned production line(s). Line supervision of production team

 

Main duties & responsibilities:

Safety

  • Ensure and promote a safe work environment and safe working practices

 

Quality

  • Support Quality investigations and  the implementation of recommendations
  • Ensure first and last of Quality inspections are being carried out and flag any quality deviations
  • Ensure management of non-conformances in line with company policy

 

Daily management of assigned team

  • Deliver on daily output targets according to production schedule
  • Escalate gaps in daily targets to their Production Management
  • Find and implement solutions to achieve daily targets

 

Continuous improvement and tidiness:

  • Responsibility for tidiness of area of responsibility and develop respective area to 6S standard
  • Raise and implement improvement ideas for own area of responsibility

 

Team leader

  • Lead and motivate the team as role model
  • Deliver training to team members
  • Day to day performance management of team – Escalate performance and conduct concerns to Production Managers and HR
  • Deputise for Production Managers in his / her absence to ensure continuity of operation coordination of team.
  • Support other Line leaders and Production Managers in their absence to ensure continuity of operation coordination of team.

                                       

Qualifications / Skills

  • Problem solving and analysis skills
  • Experience in managing production teams
  • Experience of volume manufacturing (preferred)
  • Computer Literate
  • Ability to act independently
  • Communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with MRP / ERP Systems (SAP Preferred)

 

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Operatives in Cell
