We're looking for a hands-on, dynamic Food Production Engineer to join a fantastic team in Swindon.

Our client, a well-established leader in the food manufacturing industry, is searching for someone passionate about machinery and continuous improvement. This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary between £35,000 and £39,000. In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our production lines running smoothly and efficiently. You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery to limit downtime, supporting process improvements, and helping to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Responsibilities  

  • Maintain and repair production machinery to ensure smooth operation with minimal downtime
  • Manage comprehensive maintenance programmes, keeping manuals and spares up-to-date on-site
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, perform immediate repairs, and conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues
  • Support and train manufacturing personnel to improve operational knowledge
  • Configure and optimise machinery during initial production runs and new product launches
  • Assist with factory layout planning and advise on new automated machinery integration
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health & safety and quality standards
  • Contribute to building repairs and facility maintenance projects as required

Experience and Skills

  • Experience in production environments, particularly with machinery maintenance or engineering
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
  • Good understanding of health & safety and food safety regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Practical knowledge of factory layouts, machinery, and automated equipment
  • Clear communicator with a flexible and positive attitude
