Our company is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join our well-respected and established business based in Swindon. The business has achieved smooth and consistent growth over a decade of trading.

Due to further development we now have a vacancy for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager. You will head up your own team and report into the Managing Director. An exceptional opportunity to develop and personalize this role.

The Role:

  • Managing electrical contracts from £5K - £150K in value.
  • Variety of projects of different sizes within commercial, light industrial and domestic disciplines.
  • Taking contracts from initial enquiry through to handover.
  • Estimating & working on tenders, providing in depth quotes for clients.
  • Read, understand and scrutinize specifications, programs and drawings. 
  • Meet with Clients and Consultants. 
  • Carry out site visits and surveys. 
  • Prepare contract documents e.g. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, as built drawings, O&M files. 
  • Deliver projects on program and within budget.
  • Management of existing labour and resources. Sourcing new labour, temporary and permanent to meet business and project needs.
  • Manage contract costs and variations including procurement.
  • Responsible for the day to day running of the Contracts team. Reporting to Managing Director.

 

Requirements:

  • 5 Years’ experience within a similar job role (minimum). 
  • 17th Edition Regulations. 
  • Proven track record of running multiple projects of varying sizes and sectors simultaneously.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Quality focused with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to plan ahead, co-ordinate and prioritize workloads. 
  • Ability to consistently deliver good financial returns on projects.
  • Lives within reasonable proximity to Swindon (45 minute).
  • Ideally some estimating and design experience together with hands on experience. Preferably having completed a formal apprenticeship within the electrical industry.
  • Working knowledge of NICEIC software and CAD advantageous but not essential.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
  • Happy working to targets. Able to operate under pressure and produce exceptional results.
