Looking for an exciting new opportunity to showcase your CNC turning skills? Storm Recruitment is partnering with a fantastic company based in Swindon, Wiltshire, and they’re on the hunt for a talented CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their team on a permanent basis. If you have experience working with CNC turning machines, especially Mazak/Mazatrol, then this could be just the role for you! You’ll be joining a friendly, professional manufacturing team committed to precision and quality. In this role, you’ll be taking charge of the CNC turning area, ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Fully support the CNC Turning area to ensure safe and effective machine operation
  • Program, set, and operate multi-axis CNC turning machines
  • Create and modify CNC programs to match engineering drawings and specifications
  • Interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications accurately
  • Conduct first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks
  • Manage and maintain cutting tools, fixtures, and equipment
  • Complete production documentation, ensuring correct product handling and identification
  • Maintain clean, safe, and tidy work areas in line with health & safety protocols
  • Offer assistance in other manufacturing activities when needed, demonstrating a flexible approach
  • Apprentice-trained or qualified in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience programming, setting, and operating CNC Turning machines
  • Experience with Mazatrol/Mazak machine centres is highly desirable
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Competence using measuring equipment and maintaining high-quality standards
  • Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Reliable, adaptable, and focused on delivering quality work
  • Working hours of 39 hours per week on a rotating double-day shift pattern
