We’re looking for a Weld Setter (Level 3) to join our client’s busy production team! You will report to the production manager and work 39 hours.
Purpose of the job:
To help the team produce pressed parts components to the required specification, safely, efficiently, and accurately and ensure production requirements are met. To ensure accuracy and quality of parts produced.
Main duties & responsibilities
- Ensure and promote a safe work environment and safe working practices.
- Set weld machines to produce quality components in line with company policy.
- Highlight abnormalities in weld equipment and tool settings and highlight to management or maintenance when required.
- Routine maintenance and cleaning of welders
- Conduct inspection, including first-off inspection using gauges and measuring instruments in line to Inspection Requirement.
- Work towards achieving production and OEE targets.
- Assist in the cleaning, organisation, and maintenance of the shop floor.
- Inspect the quantity and quality of raw material before proceeding to an operation.
- Provide input and participate in continuous improvement activities including 6S and LEAN initiatives.
Qualifications / Skills
- HNC / HND Level 2 - Manufacturing Qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience of volume manufacturing (preferred).
- Teamwork.
- Communication skills.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience with MRP / ERP Systems (SAP Preferred).
