Role:             Warehouse Operative

Term:             6 month FTC

Location:      West Berkshire

Salary:           £20,000 per annum pro rata

 

The role

Our client has made the decision to merge two companies warehouse and order fulfilment within its own premises based in Hungerford.  Therefore, we now have a need for a proactive and conscientious team of warehouse personnel, who take pride in their role and responsibilities, and possess an attitude that lends itself to providing exceptional customer service.

Reporting in to the Warehouse Manager, the role entails the following:

 

Warehouse Operative duties.

  • Overseeing the offloading of supplier delivery vehicles and unpacking the goods delivered with due care and attention.
  • Allocating of the goods delivered in to the warehouse to the relevant wedding lists or area, using our bespoke barcode scanning system.
  • Packing of orders upon a customer delivery booking, ensuring that items are protected and wrapped as well as possible. Seal the packaging materials in a brand appropriate manner, ensuring that the deliveries arrive with or customers in a presentable manner.
  • Collate the customer returns of any damaged/faulty items, making sure that the items are appropriately checked back in to the warehouse and relevant system, and sent back to the supplier in a timely manner where applicable. 
  • Liaise closely with the Purchasing Team to ensure they are kept up to date with supplier returns
  • Assist in the management of the stock holding.
  • Assist in any other duties relating to the warehouse and its administration as requested by the Warehouse Manager.

 

Warehouse Operative candidate requirements:

  • Come form a warehouse background, preferably Consumer Goods.
  • Computer literate
  • Some experience within an ecommerce environment/retail environment would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • A self -motivated, positive, ‘can do’ approach to the varied tasks within the role is a must,  as the role will evolve with the expansion of the department and business. 
  • We are looking for an excellent all rounder, who can be flexible with their working hours if the necessity arises on occasion.
  • Must be happy to undertake an understanding of all key functions of the role,  but are  also similarly  keen  to take ownership  and responsibility of certain areas where necessary.
  • Paying attention to detail and displaying a sense of urgency where necessary are both attributes that we are looking for. 
  • Having a ‘team player’ attitude to the role and its responsibilities is also paramount, as are possessing an appetite to delight our customers from the back office function and elevate our end-to-end customer service function. 

 

* The successful candidate must be able to drive to and from work owing to the location of the warehouse *

 

Hours:           Mon-Fri- between 8am - 5pm (a shift pattern can be offered, which would equate to 8am-4pm,  or 9am-5pm)

Holiday:       23 days p.a,  excluding public and bank holidays
