
Trainee Quantity Surveyor

The Role
Reporting to the Quantity Surveyor/Project Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, the Trainee Quantity Surveyor is required to assist the Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor or Senior Surveyor in their duties. The Trainee QS will typically attend site 4 days a week and study 1 day a week for a degree in Quantity Surveying.

Key accountabilities
- Organising and carrying out weekly site measures with the Employer and Subcontractors.
- Ensure you effectively and appropriately communicate between members of staff where required
- Assist in the preparation of sub-contract documentation as instructed
- Assist in the production of the back up to the monthly commercial reports produced in accordance with the company's policy
- Identify risks and bring them to the attention of your manager on an ongoing basis
- Ensure subcontract payments are based on accurate valuation and are made on time
- Assist in producing subcontract payments for approval on the basis that the work has been carried out in accordance with the contract and to the correct quality
- Attend regular internal meetings held and ensure your actions are closed out quickly
