                                                               JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POST TITLE

Service & Calibration Engineer        

LOCATION

Field-Based. Covering wide area including Bristol, Swindon, Oxford, Reading

SALARY

Basic:             £24,000 per annum (potentially more depending on experience)

Overtime:        Time and a half, Monday-Friday

                        Double time Sunday (if required)

Commission:   Detail to be given in interview

OTE:                £40,000 per annum

 

AIM

Regional filed based service engineer tasked with repairing, servicing, and installing Industrial weighing equipment, software and automation systems at a variety of customer premises.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • To provide breakdown and preventative maintenance services to the company clients or their authorised agents
  • To calibrate individual products and systems at customer premises in line with procedural requirements.
  • To Install new equipment at client sites
  • To maintain accurate records so that the Business may determine contract profitability and engineer productivity.
  • To be responsible for the accurate management of vehicle spare parts stock to ensure a high level of first-time fix.
  • To ensure stock is kept safe and secure as part of this process to physically quality check equipment used to carry role out.
  • To ensure that tools and equipment required to fulfill the role at well looked after and maintained
  • To identify new opportunities and sign up new business and chargeable work while out in the field in order to make an individual contribution to the financial performance of the Business.
  • Participate in planned overtime working for “out of hours” installations and upgrades.
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate within the scope of the role and in line with skills and experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • It is preferable that you have a working knowledge of weighing and /or IT equipment, with previous experience within a customer service environment. 
  • This role will necessitate team working; however, you will need to work independently and be logical in your approach. 
  • The role demands a great deal of problem-solving and you must be able to prioritise and have a flexible approach to hours and type of work. 
  • You must have a full (preferred clean) Driving Licence and live in a suitable location.
  • Must be willing to follow instructions and take a personal interest and pride in making sure the job is always running smoothly.
  • They should be comfortable working in a busy environment and have a good command of the requirements of the role.
  • They should enjoy working as part of a team and be able to take instruction from remote team leaders.
  • They should be able to multi-task, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • They should get along well with others and be a good listener.
  • They should be punctual, reliable, and follow up on all action items.
