Senior Design Engineer

Job Title:                     Senior Design Engineer

Reports To:                 Engineering Manager

Hours Per Week:        37.5

Salary:                         £40,000 - £50,000 per annum.

  25 days holiday                                          

Purpose of the job:  Product design and development

Main duties & responsibilities:

1. Design of manual, pneumatic and cordless dispensing equipment
2. Design new products from concept to production
3. Work with development team to improve existing products

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria - Skills, experience and qualifications:

1. Overseeing small team of Design Engineers
2. Reporting to upper management
3. 1st or 2nd class engineering degree, or equivalent, in mechanical or systems engineering.
4. Achieved, or be actively working towards, Chartered Engineer status.
5. Experience of designing electro mechanical equipment or experience of electro mechanical systems.
6. Experience of working in a Quality Assured environment using standard tools such as DFMEA, DVP&R, control plans, etc.
7. Communication – written and verbal.
8. Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
9. Competent in the use of CAD.
10. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria - Skills, experience qualifications

1. 3 years expereince of Design Engineering
2. Experience of tool/personal equipment design.
3. Able to write technical documents for publication.
4. Experience presenting technical subject matter to nontechnical audiences.
