Job Title:         Quality Inspector 
Salary:             £22,000 - £28,000
Hours:             7:30AM – 4:30PM Mon - Thurs, 7:30AM-12:30PM Friday
Location:         Cirencester 
Position:         Permanent 

 

Brief Description

Uses fixed or variable measuring instruments to inspect parts, products and/or processes and ensure conformance with standards. Checks for irregularities and defects. Compares products with parts lists or sample models to ensure completion of assembly. Verifies specified dimensions on products or materials. May be responsible for setting gages to gage manual, engineering specifications, and/or blueprint requirements.  May be responsible for calibration and maintenance of new and existing measurement devices.  Typically, has up to 2 years of experience in position or specialization.  Applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization.  Duties and tasks are standardized. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.


Job Responsibilities

  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and scrap; inputting data into quality database.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with plant regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating / cross training with veteran inspectors
  • Ability to read technical publications / Prints.
  • Knowledge of standard inspection equipment measuring allowable acceptance (.00005 to .001)
  • You will be expected to work in any appropriate capacity according to your training and capability.

Quality Inspector Skills and Qualifications:

H/S or equivalent; being proficient in mathematical situation. Analytical aptitude.
