Outline of Job Description

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a manager with an in-depth working knowledge of IS0 9001 and an understanding of the AS/EN9100 aerospace additions. However, a solid background in a machining/CNC environment or precision mechanical engineering is essential, due to the company quality control measures.  In this role, you will provide leadership, direction, motivation, support, and guidance for all areas from within the Quality Department. Provide environmental management to EN ISO 14001 ensuring fulfilment of our compliance obligations.

Main Duties to include:

  • Ensuring that all customer specifications are met and maintained, Quality Planning and process documentation is organised.
  • Understand and direct the creation, controls, and input of data from, drawings, standards, and specifications into the company MRP, for use in Process Control Sheets, batch routing and FAIR’s.
  • Ensure that customer complaints are validated and that corrective actions are robust using common quality tools such as 8D and 5 whys.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and construct a monthly report/review.
  • Ensure procedures are updated and developed to achieve best practice.
  • Monitor and ensure the system audit schedules (Quality & Environmental) are maintained.
  • Monitor supplier’s performance and assist the Buyer with approval ratings.
  • Administer applications for concessions, waivers, and production permits.

  • A well-presented and pleasant manner with strong interpersonal, supervisory, and organisational skills is essential.
  • The ability to communicate; be comfortable speaking with a wide range of staff, customers, and suppliers in person and by telephone, in writing and in meetings.
  • An understanding for the need to continually maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Beneficial Skills:

  • Have hands-on experience of:
    • Reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
    • Engineered metallic components (turned / milled) or related aerospace background. 
    • Quality inspection, precision measuring equipment with CMM methods/knowledge an advantage.
    • Knowledge of AS9102 FAIR completion.  Meticulous approach to measurement, comparison with standards and monitoring of processes.

 

Full training will be given in all areas of administration as required.

 

This position is working a 39-hr week Monday to Friday -

Hours-08.30-5.00 (08.30-4.00 Fridays).
