Production Manager

Our client have a proud history of cabinet making, spanning over 30 years. They are now one of the UK’s leading kitchen manufacturers and retailers, selling high quality, handmade kitchens from a network of showrooms across the country. All their kitchens are designed and manufactured at their facility in Swindon, where they combine cutting-edge technology with expert craftsmanship.


As Production Manager you will effectively manage resources to deliver the production plan, in this hands-on role you will have specific focus on product quality and continuous improvement ensuring the business exceeds its objectives, whilst providing excellent customer service.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will have shared responsibility of 50+ production staff.

  • Full-time, permanent role
  • Salary from £38k to £44k, depending on experience
  • 23 days holiday, plus bank holidays

  • Monday to Friday with an early finish on Fridays. Some Saturday working may be required to meet demand

Key Responsibilities

  • Production and capacity planning, ensuring machinery plant and resources are available to meet production demand.
  • Provide effective leadership of people, processes, and systems.
  • Monitor and drive improvements across production, quality, and maintenance seeking opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Assist with the new product development programme.
  • Manage & implement projects as required.
  • Ensure that Health & Safety requirements are always adhered to.
  • Ensure staff compliance with all applicable standards, policies & procedures.

Skill Requirements

  • Have a good understanding of production processes and equipment within the furniture industry.
  • Ideally have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to achieve a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Good organisational & communication skills
  • Good IT skills, with the ability to use a dedicated ERP system.
