Order Manager Key Responsibilities

  • This is a non-external customer-facing role focussed entirely on ‘back office’ order entry
  • To interpret and manually enter sales orders into the various order management systems as required.
  • Where products have changed or are input data not available, facilitate gaining approved replacement product set up.
  • To work to an accuracy target of 100%, ensuring care, attention to detail and a meticulous approach.
  • To work to the agreed entry priority list, as agreed with the team leader. Processing orders within 24 hours of notification
  • Feeding back to the relevant sales team within 24 hours of receipt order when the order is incorrect or requires amending.
  • Develop and maintain a ‘how-to’ order entry guide for all Sales & Design teams, accounting for any variations in order entry practices to support the 100% accuracy target.
  • Input all prioritised orders accurately, to the agreed productivity/pace, and entirely in accordance with customer order entry requirements.
  • Processing remedials with 24 hours of notification to meet production lead times.
  • Report status regularly to the team leader.
  • Identify and share opportunities for efficiency and improved productivity within the order entry process.
  • Close liaison with key stakeholders to ensure handover information is accurate, inclusive, and allows unambiguous interpretation to allow order entry at 100% accuracy.
  • Close liaison with the appointed ‘buddy checker’ who will check your work, feedback any issues or errors, and allow you to self-rectify any issues and learn from them as they arise.

 

Order Manager Skill Requirements

  • The role requires drive, initiative and in-depth product knowledge - coming from a manufacturing or construction background would be preferred.
  • A high level of communication and interpersonal skills is essential
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, and able to work under pressure 
  • Able to maintain focus and concentrate within a busy and sometimes noisy office environment.
  • Numerate and literate. Touch typing and/or ability to transpose/type accurately and at speed.
  • Order entry experience or similar data entry is essential.
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude, friendly and warm in nature. 
  • Always loves to be busy and productive, seeking out work where required.
  • Self-motivated, demonstrating commitment, urgency and diligence.
  • Passionate about customer service excellence and ensuring the customer’s needs are fully reflected in the orders handled.
