Our client is a high-end manufacturer of kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and workspaces based in Swindon. They are looking to expand their team with an experienced Installation Planner.
Purpose of the Role
- To continually assess the diary for potential opportunities for optimisation and to drive down installation costs.
- Point of escalation for site labour requests.
- Strong administration skills to assist field team managers (RIMS).
- Co-ordinate deliveries with Green Group.
- Review all opportunities to maximise utilisation of direct installers.
- Co-ordinate 3rd party trades around our labour to ensure seamless project completion.
- Ensure effective electronic instruction between the office and the field.
- Deal swiftly and effectively with any potential booking conflicts.
- Generate Field Aware process improvements for the planning function.
- Be attune to financial implications in particular with the usage of subcontractors.
- Deliver trend analysis on job types, travel times, costings & job duration.
- Work with the Planning Manager to continually deliver cost-saving initiatives to the field.
Installation Planner Key Responsibilities
- Study the forward order book and press for accuracy in data to enable successful interpretation of resource requirements.
- Improve the planning function by analysing job types and associated timings.
- To work with Installation Account Managers to drive an increase in compliance of ‘minimum plot call off’.
- Help to ensure scheduling KPI’s are hit and no jobs are missed by the Installation Account Managers
- To receive confirmation of product ship dates from Installation Account Managers for urgent return work.
- Review outstanding work schedules for pulling forward/pushing back future site call-offs.
- Build a rapport with Regional Installations Managers to ensure sufficient installation and survey resource is available to meet customer demand.
- Work with RIM’s to help resolve problematic booking conflicts or unexpected absence.
- Drive down overtime usage by efficient allocation.
- Review the variable dynamics of site conditions to ensure correct resource allocated.
- Validate the urgency of requests.
Installation Planner Key Competencies
- Proven experience in a project planner or programme scheduler role in any industry sector
- Comfortable with interpreting statistics to improve operational excellence.
- An appreciation of business strategy
- Have the ability to work in a logical fashion but when called upon ‘think outside the box’ to get the right scheduling solution.
- Can scan through diarised appointments quickly but effectively to pick out the anomaly.
- Can deal with ‘chaotic’ scenarios and ‘change’ with confidence and calmness.
- A relationship-builder who can communicate to stakeholders at all levels in particular between the field and the office.
- To have the aptitude to switch frequently between both ‘short term’ and ‘long-term’ planning.
