Our client is an ICT Support company and Microsoft Partner based in Swindon providing on-site technical support to SME’s & schools in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire & Berkshire. They are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated ICT support technician to join our growing team.

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, be well organised, be polite & presentable, and have a strong desire to learn and become a valued member of their team.


All candidates must:

  • Hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for daily business use.
  • Have a valid visa to live and work in the UK
  • Have no criminal record


ICT Support Engineer responsibilities:

  • Provide support and network management to our clients, both remotely and onsite
  • Find solutions to problems and have a hands-on approach to support activities
  • Routine Microsoft system admin tasks, group policy, user creation & general system management
  • Third-party liaison on behalf of the client
  • You should have an adaptable approach and the capacity to multi-task and work on various projects/tasks simultaneously.


ICT Support Engineer working knoweldege requirements:

  • Windows Client Operating Systems (Windows 7, 10)
  • Windows Server version (2012 & 2016, 2019). E.g. Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Microsoft 365 Administration
  • Networking installations, management & troubleshooting - switches, routers, wireless access points and controlled wireless networks
  • Experience of network cabling, patching, small scale installation & troubleshooting
  • Good PC/Laptop hardware knowledge, previous experience with repairs
  • Supporting mobile devices and relevant OS (Android & Apple)
  • Security Solutions - Antivirus, Malware, Ransomware
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially telephone manner
  • Experience supporting schools
  • Use of helpdesk ticketing systems for logging of incidents and workflow

The following IT Experience would be desirable but not essential as training will be given

  • Microsoft Azure Services
  • Classroom equipment: Interactive panels, whiteboards, projectors & audio equipment
  • Virtualisation Solutions (VMWare & Hyper V)
  • Backup Solutions
  • Device Imaging and deployment


Additional information:

  • Fuel expenses paid at 45p per mile
  • All equipment needed for the role provided, laptop, tools etc.
  • 20 days paid holiday (Taken in school holidays only) + public holidays
  • 37.5 Hours per week, Monday – Friday working hours vary from 8am-9am start time.
