About the role

Leading a small team, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the finance team, including accounting and payroll functions, overseeing the financial planning, analysis and reporting. You will be a key point of contact for all departments and will work closely with leaders across all departments to ensure financial processes are adhered to and effective in line with business growth.

 

Key responsibilities will include:  

  • Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
  • Completing monthly management accounts and managing the month-end reporting process ensuring P&L and balance sheets are correctly consolidated
  • Partnering with the heads of department to forecast budgets and record overheads
  • Review all corporate budgeting processes
  • Lead financial projects to support business growth
  • Review budgets and forecasts to help give insight into key drivers of variances
  • Overseeing financial audits ensuring compliance and best practices are being followed
  • Take a pro-active role in operational and financial system developments to streamline processes and increase efficiencies
  • Deliver monthly reporting packs for the board summarising productivity challenges provide understanding and analysis to support performance and assumptions of risk and opportunities.
  • Support the development of the finance team through on the job training, coaching and assisting in their professional growth

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Self-starter with a minimum of 2 years experience leading the BAU of a finance department with direct line management
  • The successful applicant would have, or will be working towards achieving IAT or IACCA qualification
  • Have an understanding of the construction industry
