Job Title Conveyancer 
Location Swindon - Old Town     
Sector Law 
Salary Up to £30k p/annum 
     Working Days/Hours              9AM - 5PM, Monday to Friday             

 

Our client is a higher rights qualified solicitor-advocate dealing with all aspects of litigation from multi track trials to small claims matters, conveyancing and every area of family law from their offices in Witney and Swindon.

            They are now looking for a new addition to the team, someone looking to set down roots and grow within the company!

 

Main Responsibilities:

Conduct Cases

  • Administrative tasks

  • Answering the telephone

  • Typing

  • Filing

  • Researching

  • Liaise with clients and/or other Solicitors and/or Estate Agents

  • Draft legal documents and Report on Title

  • Review searches and prepare search reports

  • Review mortgages and prepare mortgage reports

  • Review title documents and raise enquiries

  • Conduct interviews with clients

  • Assess legal problems

  • Advise clients on costs

  • Devise outline strategy for cases

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • To contribute wherever possible to the success of the firm

  • At all times to exercise high standards of client care

  • To take appropriate steps to ensure that monthly and/or yearly targets are me

  • To comply at all times with the detailed procedures contained in the Client’s Office Manual

  • To participate in marketing activities on a departmental and firm wide basis

  • To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients documents and information at all times

  • To do all such other things which are, in the reasonable opinion of the firm, ancillary, necessary or conducive to the role and responsibilities outlined above.

Administration

  • Maintain files

  • Deal with billing, paying costs and closing files

  • Follow administrative systems and procedures

Development

  • Participate in team meetings

  • Attend internal courses

  • Keep up to date with law and practice

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  •  Previous experience in a similar role 
  • Able to work independently and prioritise workload 

  • Strong articulate communicator (oral and written)

  • Enthusiasm to learn and improve skills 

  • IT skills suited to an office environment

    •  Familiar with MS Office packages 

  • Have excellent organisational skills

  • Relevant qualifications to work in Conveyancing
