Job Title:                              CNC Programmer / Setter

Reports To:                          Production Manager

Location:                              Hungerford, Berkshire

Days/Hours:                         6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am

Hours Per Week:                 37.5

Salary:                                  £28,000 - £32,000 per annum with shift allowance of 11% AM,  30% PM, 50% nights               

                                                               

Purpose of the job: 

The Programmer / Setter is responsible for the development and preparation of numerical programs used to drive CNC machine tools.  The programmer selects the necessary cutting tools and establishes the sequence of operation for the machine’s operations.  The programmer creates the necessary machine code to drive the cutting tool’s cutter path. 

Main duties & responsibilities:

  •          Operating CNC Milling and Turning machinery
  •          Will use Machines such as Fanuc, Nakamura, Samsung and Citixen
  •          Operating 5 axis machinery
  •          Handling parts and elements of approximately 300mm – 400mm.
  •          Working within a very busy enviromet producing volume of several hundred up to a. hundred thousand.
  •          All CAM programming using materials such as Stainless Steel, Aluminium and other steels
  •          Proactively assist with regulatory and company requirements for stock checks
  •          Undertake other tasks which may be required in order to assist the Operations function

Candidate requirements:

  •          Experience of working within a similar position within CNC Engineering.
  •          Manufacturing Engineering background
  •          Preferably hold relevant qualifications or degree
  •          Experience of using Machines such as Fanuc or Nakamura
  •          Full driving licence
  •          Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  •          Aware of best practice within CNC Setting and Programming
