Our client is a leading distributor of specialised sheet material from UK's leading manufacturers. In line with the company’s strategic vision, we are looking to recruit a talented and dynamic area sales manager who will increase the awareness, specification and profitability of our existing product portfolio whilst looking for new opportunities to cross-sell our product lines together with the tenacity to drive forward the newer product lines into established stand-alone brands.

 

Area Sales Manager Main Duties

  • To grow the company business, meet agreed sales targets for the area and contribute to the overall team / Company success.
  • To present the Company and its products on a technical and sales level to customers and specifiers; i.e. Architects / Designers / Local Authority etc.
  • To undertake formal presentations of the Company products to maintain and create brand recognition in the market place as well as developing a continual program of promotion and benefits strategy.
  • To actively service and develop an existing client bank.
  • To manage own area and develop sales opportunities in existing and new markets.
  • To maintain and grow the current sales pipe-line
  • To attend and contribute to regular sales meetings.
  • To keep abreast of market information and continually communicate back to management on key issues that affects the Company’s ability to perform in the market place.
  • To maintain and update the company CRM software package.
  • To provide accurate sales forecasting for short and long-term budget purpose.
  • To undertake Company administrative duties and reporting as required and on time.
  • To attend training sessions as required by the Company.
  • To attend and participate in exhibitions / trade shows as required by the Company.

·                To undertake any such reasonable duties that may be required from time-to-time by the Company.

 

Area Sales Manager Key Skills

  • Proven field sales experience. Looking for candidates who can give clear examples of winning and maintaining business.
  • Sales experience within a similar market desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Self-motivator and target driven.
  • The Area Sales Manager must have excellent negotiation skills.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to achieving success.
  • Well organised with excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to produce and deliver technical presentations.
  • Dynamic personality with excellent commercial awareness.
  • Ability to collate information and write meaningful reports.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interpret drawings would be useful.
